You bought some brushes, paint and watercolor paper and you're soooo excited to start painting. You set up your space and everything is ready to have fun creating a little piece of art. And then you stare at your blank paper and realize you ran out of painting ideas!
“What should I paint?”
There is not one answer to this question. If you ask a hundred people you will probably get a hundred different answers to that. I think the best thing to do when you don't know what to paint is practicing some basic techniques. For example the wet on wet and the wet on dry technique!
In my video below I show you step-by-step how to create three beautiful paintings practicing those techniques for those times when you have no painting ideas at all!
If you haven't already you should check out my free guide on watercolor painting. It gives you an overview on supplies and techniques for beginners! Just click here and download it for free!

You are wonderfull! I like your ideas and the way you are presenting. I am a beginner and your work is ideal for me. But, why the annoying music in the background? I am watching your videos on and on, but with subtitles 🙂
I’m happy to hear that you enjoy my videos! Too bad we have different taste in background music 🙈
Thanks For Sharing Mako 🙂
I find that kind of music relaxing and lends to creativity. I like your videos – thank you for sharing your talent
Thank you so much!
What kind of tape do you use to divide the areas on the sheet of paper before painting?
Washi Tape 🙂
