“Teaching music is not my main purpose. I want to make good citizens. If children hear fine music from the day of their birth and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. They get a beautiful heart.”

~Shinichi Suzuki

When I was in school I used to play the violin since it was a big dream of mine when I was little. Since the music school I attended used Shinichi Suzuki's methods I got the chance to learn something about him and his techniques.
As probably not everyone knows Shinichi Suziuki was the inventor of the international Suzuki method of music education. He believed that music and talent education should start from an early age and in a good environment. For me it is really crazy to see little children playing the violin that couldn't barely hold the violin! But it is amazing how great they became.
I really enjoyed playing the violin the first years, but somehow I was not very motivated to play it any more.. So I stopped after 7 years. Maybe because I got lazy and didn't practice enough? Because my interests developed in another directions? I don't know. Still the violin is a beautiful instrument and I really admire people who had the discipline not giving up on practising this instrument and now are able to play beautiful pieces breathtakingly.
This locket was inspired by music and the idea to create something new and timeless. It was really difficult to create it because it is REALLY small! (And who thought symmetrical things are that hard to paint…) But I really wanted to create this necklace.
Since there must be musicians out there I hope some of you (and not only) will like this necklace!
You can always find more here in my shop!
