You long to be creative but there’s so much going on in your life that you just don’t know how to make time for your art? There is work, school, laundry, hungry kids, family, friends… the list goes on and on and it can be hard to find some time for yourself! BUT it’s possible and you’re here in the right place to learn how!!
So let’s dive right into it!
#1 Define your goals!
Ask yourself what your goals are and what is important to you and write it down! Because you will see more clearly what your personal and professional goals are and what you want to focus on. You shouldn’t be wasting your time on things that don’t serve you.
#2 To-Do list!
Now that you know your goals it’s time to focus on important things! To keep your head free from constantly thinking and trying not to forget everything that needs to be done make yourself a to-do list!
Before you put everything on your to-do list even the smallest and maybe not that urgent tasks you need to prioritise! When you do that take that piece of paper where you wrote down your goals to keep your WHY in mind!
#4 Track your time
Tracking your time makes you aware of where you spend all your time! You might realize that you waste way too much time on things that are not really important to you. At least that’s what happened to me!
So once you can identify your personal time-wasters and cut down on distractions you’ll have much more time to spend with things you love or things that bring you huge steps closer to your goals!
Now that you know your goals and priorities, have your to-do list and know what you spend your time on it’s time to schedule!
There are different ways to schedule! You can schedule your day, week or even month however you want it and whatever works best for you! To learn more about different ways to schedule watch my video below!
#6 Protect your time
Most important after all those steps is this one! If you don’t protect that time that you saved for example for your art you will end up doing other things, either other tasks from your to-do list or for other people! Make your scheduled time non-negotiable!
#7 Assess and improve
Keep in mind that you’re a human being! You’re not a machine and you’re constantly learning, assessing and improving! So when for example scheduling your whole week doesn’t work out for you it might be time to try scheduling your days.
