Did you pick up a new hobby during this quarantine? I've seen so many people starting to paint with watercolors because they finally had the time to learn something new. And of course, I am sooooo excited about it!
Picking up a new hobby is one thing, but sticking with it is a whole new story!
In a lot of countries, things are slowly getting back to normal. We will be busy again, other things will seem more important to us than our self-care and your new hobby might be forgotten soon.
We try so many different things that we are overwhelmed, (go to the gym 3 times a week, practice yoga daily, paint every day, daily meditations…) then we miss one or two days of exercise or painting or… and we quit.
But here's the truth:
You don't need a perfect routine that keeps you moving. It's more about showing up for yourself!
Even if sometimes things become more challenging or if you don't feel like doing something. Stack all the little wins.
The only reason why things like fears, doubts or our perfectionism is able to get in our way is that we tend to forget why we wanted to do something, why did we pick up that hobby in the first place?
Maybe you wanted to pick up watercolor painting as a hobby because it would help you spend time with yourself and relax or maybe so you can spend time with your family and friends while doing something fun together or maybe you wanted to create your own art as a meaningful gift for your family and friends?
For me, watercolor painting has been a source of inspiration and learning!
