Have you ever felt stuck in your creative comfort zone? With any creative hobby, it is easy to stay a beginner forever. At some point, it starts to get boring for us and we start to feel tired of our hobby.
If you’ve been feeling a little fed up with painting the same kinds of things in the same kind of style, and you haven’t been seeing much progress in your art, you are in the right place! Keep reading (or jump right to my video) to learn more about how this is holding you back. And what you can do to finally take a step out of your comfort zone and past your current stage!
Let me share three questions with you that you can ask yourself whenever you fell like you’re not moving forward with your art, and you need a creativity boost.
Take some time to think about them. You can also journal about them and if you need a little extra guidance, I’ll share a little gift with you at the end of this blogpost.
Before we dive right in, let’s see why it is important to step out of your comfort zone every once in a while.
No matter when your creative journey started, you do have a comfort zone. My creative journey started several years ago and even I have moments of self-doubt.
Our comfort zones change and evolve just like we do. Every step we take forward means new challenges to overcome. The techniques you know now that feel easy and familiar used to be a bigger challenge when you first picked up a paintbrush.
But you didn’t give up, you stepped out of your creative comfort zone and learned this new technique. I hope you celebrated that and you feel proud of yourself.
Challenging yourself to try new and more difficult things will help you improve your skills faster!
Now watch my video below for the three questions you should ask yourself when you are stuck in your creative comfort zone!
As promised above, here is my gift for you! A free worksheet that will help you identify your limiting beliefs and reframe them.
